A reversible fuel cell is used to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen. The energy to do this is supplied from a solar cell or if it is not sunny then a battery can be used. Once the gases are produced after a few minutes the fuel cell can be connected to a small electric motor. As it runs you can see the gases being used up.
Using the solar cell for the electrolysis shows a very green and low carbon method for producing electricity.
The kit is supplied complete with tubing, motor & fan blade, wires etc.
